Each year, thousands of tons of trash are packed and cleared in landfills. Most of this trash is from domestic sources. Although reducing household trash is an ongoing process, small changes should be implemented in every home to help control and possibly reduce potential damage to the environment. Below are 6 tips on how to have a greater impact on reducing your carbon footprint by reducing the amount of trash you produce.
- Tip 1 - Don't do it alone. Whether at your home or business get the buy in of everyone involved, do it together.
- Tip 2 - Buy recyclable items.
- Tip 3 - Always recycle.
- Tip 4 - Purchase in bulk. Not only will this prove cheaper in the long run, but it will also reduce the amount of trash you throw out.
- Tip 5 - Give old items away instead of throwing them away.
- Tip 6 - Change spending habits.

Millennium would like to recognize our soccer team for winning their 5th straight Santa Clarita Valley open league championship. Part of Millennium's great culture is our soccer team and we want to thank our dedicated employees for their hard work and great sportsmanship this year.
Safety First
At Millennium we take safety very seriously and it shows. All Employees are required to take safety training monthly. Because of our high standards in safety training, Millennium is happy to report that we have not had one workers comp claim in all of our years in business. This has resulted in us having one of the lowest (if not the lowest) workers comp. rates in the janitorial industry.

Cleaning tip of the month
It's spring cleaning time again; time to clean your house and business from top to bottom. We all know that spring cleaning is necessary at least once or twice a year to ensure your house and/or business gets the proper cleaning it needs. Spring cleaning goes beyond the regular cleaning ritual. When you spring clean you are cleaning areas you usually do not clean. These areas may include:
- Dusting the corners and ceilings for cobwebs
- Washing down the baseboards, door jams, window sills, doors, and walls
- Cleaning windows (inside and out)
- Scrubbing the kitchen cabinets, appliances, and the backsplash behind the stove-wipe out the refrigerator and freezer
- Give the bathroom a good scrubbing
- Washing ceiling fans and air conditioning vents-purge the things in your home that you do not need or want
- Getting all floor surfaces scrubbed, shampooed and/or cleaned
